Configuring the FTP proxy for the first time in Fireware Pro

Using the WatchGuard System Manager, select “connect to Device” and enter the trusted IP of your Firebox and its readonly passphrase.

After the device is shown in the WatchGuard System Manager display, select the device and click the “Policy Manager” icon.

Policy Manager will open showing you the policies as in the screen displayed below.

Double click on FTP.

Select the Properties tab and click on “View/Edit Proxy”.

Click on the Download category and you can see that these filetypes are denied by default.

You probably want to allow your users to get .zip files, and optionally .exe files.

In this section, you can either set “If matched” to Allow, or remove the file extension from the list.

Once selected, click OK and you will be prompted to rename the proxy from the default system proxy.  Give it a name such as “FTPproxy”

Click Ok and you will be back to the FTP properties screen.

Click OK and save the change to the Firebox.
